About Salsa Dance Parties

 Salsa Dance Parties was established in January 2006. Since then we have gone from

strength-to-strength: supplying Salsa and Swing Jive Party Entertainment, Discos and Children’s Entertainment at events across the South of England and the Midlands. We have entertained at functions of all sizes: from a house party of fifteen guests, to a Dinner and Dance for over two hundred.

About myself

 My name is Philippe Retourne. I took up Salsa dancing in 1998 and started teaching in 2002. I’ve taken lessons from many teachers over the years,learning different styles and techniques. It’s from this foundation that I’ve developed my own methodical, good humoured style of teaching. I love entertaining people, and seeing them happy and enjoying themselves.

An Entertainer by nature

 I launched Salsa Danced Parties, after entertaining at parties for friends and their children; where it was suggested that I provide the same service for others. Very soon I recognised the need to supply an all-in-one entertainment package. This led me to creating a Mobile Disco and building up a huge library of music to suit all tastes and ages.

 For many years I have been a sound engineer: installing and operating audio-visual systems, and able to service and maintain my own equipment.

 I sing, and play several musical instruments including, guitar, saxophone and ukulele; as well as composing music and writing songs.

I have a CRB certificate and Public Liability Insurance. All my equipment is PAT tested.

My motto in life is; ‘Everything with enthusiasm!’
